Description & Building Alterations
This tenement building was completed in 1904 by Sass & Smallheiser, architects for owners Hillman & Goldman. The building was designed to hold 34 families. In 1931, a new chimney was constructed on the rear of the building. At the time, the owner was Angelo Messina and the architects were Levy & Berger. This building is six stories high and five bays wide with the three center bays featuring paired windows. It is clad in brick with stone ornament in classical motifs, especially at the center bay. The windows vary in their ornament. The modillioned cornice is intact and features dentil molding. The first floor has been stripped of original detail.
