The pre-law tenement at No. 324 ½ East 8^th Street was constructed in 1873. At the time of its construction, the tenement housed eight families with stores on the ground floor.

Today the building is entirely residential and contains twenty apartments. This building escaped a string of demolitions of surrounding properties in the 1980s, even though looking at photos from that period reveals the building in disrepair. Since then it has been fully rehabilitated, while retaining much of its historic detail such as window surrounds and the galvanized iron cornice.
