Description & Building Alterations

This five-story brick building was constructed in 1872 by owner John Schreiner and was designed by architect William Graul. It was to be occupied by four families on each of the second through fifth floors and two stores on the ground level.

The Italianate Revival building’s facade features a galvanized iron cornice that is supported by tall brackets, with decorated panels between them. There are also arched window lintels and bracketed sills.

What is the Building Blocks Project
