Description & Building Alterations

Lot 5 is comprised of former Lots 5, 7, 8, and 9. Now one large apartment building, it was originally four six-story brick Old Law Tenements erected in 1897. The façades are unified with brick and stone, and a cornice stretches the length of the buildings. When they were four separate buildings, Lot 9, the corner lot, held 3 families on each upper floor; the remaining buildings on Lots 5, 7 and 8 held two apartments per floor. There are stores on the ground floor of the building.
