This lot was originally divided into three (lots 11, 12, and 13), which housed three five-story Old Law tenement buildings. There is no demolition permit on file, however the building formerly at 212 East 3rd Street was still standing in the 1980s tax photo. This is true of the other two buildings, as seen in the 1940s tax photo.

What is the Building Blocks Project

The site explores the area generally considered today as the East Village: from a northern border of 14th Street to a southern border of Houston Street, Avenue D in the east to 4th Avenue/the Bowery to the west.
