249 East 7th Street | Block : 377 | Lot #62
Description & Building Alterations
This is a six-story tenement constructed in brick with Renaissance Revival stone detailing, built in 1899 and designed by Kurtzer & Rohl. The cornice is bracketed and each story’s windows are decorated differently. Beltcourses run throughout the building, emphasizing horizontality. The entrance consists of two columns with a floral stone lintel and the door is carved wood.
At some point, the building next door at no. 251 was demolished. A two-story wing on that site was added to the building at no. 249 between 1996 and 2006. A perimeter fence was installed at the front of the property.
