Description & Building Alterations

This six-story brick Old Law Tenement building was constructed in 1899 and was occupied by 28 families. The architect on the project was Michael Bernstein. There were two stores on the ground floor, which were converted into residential units in 1967. In the same year, the number of apartments in the building was reduced to 23. Excellent detail on the façade of the upper stories remains intact, though based on a 1980’s tax photo, the cornice does not appear to be original.
