The building at 248 East 2^nd Street was constructed in 1885 as an Old Law tenement for Michael Fay as seen in the tax records and the Real Estate Record and Builders’ Guide. (Please note: The Real Estate Record and Builders Guide says “No. 246,” but we believe this is a typo). Five stories in height, it is largely intact, including its Queen Anne cornice.
