Description & Building Alterations

This six-story with basement tenement was erected in 1901 and designed by architects Schneider & Herter.

The original four-bay wide facade featured a bracketed cornice, decorative terra-cotta details, portico, and beltcourses. It is unclear when it was replaced by the present plain brick facade, though it had to have been between the 1940s and 1980s as seen in the tax photos (see sidebar).

What is the Building Blocks Project
