Description & Building Alterations

This pre-law tenement was constructed in 1874 and originally housed four families per floor. The original owner, George H. Folsom, also owned the tenements on tax lots 54, 55, 56 and 57. Prolific tenement architect William Jose designed this building, which is constructed of brick and features a galvanized iron cornice. The ground level basement originally held storefronts that have since been bricked over.
