Description & Building Alterations

This four-story rowhouse was built along with its neighbor at Number 230 East 11th Street between 1850-1853.  The building features arched window openings and doorways. The first floor has key stones above the arched openings, the upper level windows have decorative arched sills and lintels. In 1922 the building was owned by St. Mark’s Church and was converted from a boarding house with furnished rooms into an apartment building.
