In 1922, the building was altered again with a one-story brick extension in the rear and a new storefront. 225 First Avenue is four stories in height, three bays wide, and clad in brick. The upper two stories have simple stone lintels and sills. According to tax photos, this building has lost its cornice and window ornamentation, and the original recessed second floor windows have been replaced.
