This property originally belonged to Peter Stuyvesant as part of his vast real estate holdings as the last Dutch West India Company director-general. He subdivided his property holdings and Washington King purchased the land from Stuyvesant in 1845. According to tax assessment records, this building was constructed in 1845. The four-story building features brownstone sills and lintels and retains its historic cornice.
