213 East 11th Street | Block : 467 | Lot #55
Description & Building Alterations
John M. Forster designed this Old-Law tenement for owner Mrs. Anna M. Hoch in 1884. The building originally served as a tenement for ten families. The original facade was brownstone with full window enframements, a projecting door surround, and a cornice with a triangular pediment. The building was remodeled in 1939 and again in 1959. The exterior was likely redone during the 1939 work and then painted in 1959 to resemble the glazed brick that was popular during that time.
