Description & Building Alterations

This six-story tenement, built along with 214 First Avenue, was designed by architects Bernstein & Bernstein. It was originally erected for stores on the first floors and 22 families on upper floors. The present facade of the building features brick quoins, splayed window lintels, elaborate pediments, decorative beltcourses, and brick panels. The entrance is flanked by fluted pilasters supporting an entablature with foliate details. The historical roof cornice has been removed.
