Description & Building Alterations

This five-story pre-law tenement was constructed in 1859, likely along with the neighboring building on lot 34. While this one has a similar cornice, it appears that the original lintels have been removed and replaced with simple rectangular lintels. An additional bay of smaller windows were opened in the center of the building, which may be from the installation of bathrooms. There are also two openings cut in the third and fifth floors for air-conditioning units.

The building was originally red brick but has since been painted off-white. The first floor storefront has also been altered from its original appearance.
