Description & Building Alterations
Albert’s Garden, adjacent to the New York Marble Cemetery, is one of the over 600 community gardens in the entire city.
The Ramones posed for the iconic cover of their debut album cover against the western wall of the garden. The lot was transformed from a basketball court into this garden in the 70’s. Prior to that, there was a three-story building with a basement and store on the site at least through the early 20th century.
