Description & Building Alterations

This fifteen-story building is the New School’s first dormitory, completed in 1989. It is called the Henry and Louise Loeb Residence, after its two benefactors, and houses students from Parsons School of Design and the Eugene Lang College.

It is a concrete construction building with a red, brick façade. Lighter and darker colored bands express horizontality and the windows are of a contemporary design. A permit from 1966 suggests that the lot was once owned or leased by the Harglo Hotel Corp.
