Description & Building Alterations

When built in 1877 by William Graul, the tenement housed 8 families, two on each upper floor, and a storefront on the ground floor. Occupancy has changed over the years as apartments were consolidated, and by 1931 the building housed only five families. The upper stories retain beautiful detail that includes a galvanized iron cornice, original brickwork and iron window trimmings.

What is the Building Blocks Project
