Description & Building Alterations

This four-story building was originally erected in 1858-59, along with the neighboring buildings at 115-121 Avenue A. The lot was once part of William B. Astor’s holdings and was leased out in 1859.

No. 123 has been significantly altered and does not maintain many original features. The historic cornice and window lintels have been removed. The first-story storefront was reconfigured in 1919.
