Description & Building Alterations

According to the tax records, houses were on these two lots as early as 1837 and by 1839 there were two houses per lot. The houses at the front were tenementized and raised in height later in the 19th century. The rear houses are still intact.

In the early 1900s, the ground floor of No. 120 was occupied by a saloon. In 1955, the storefronts were replaced with a brick wall and the fire escapes were added in 1957.

The facade has been stripped of its original elements such as the cornice and window lintels. The ground floor has been largely altered and now features modern entrances.
