Description & Building Alterations

This five-story tenement was originally built as a house in 1853 and was enlarged into a multiple dwelling by 1859. There are two extensions on site, the later one constructed in 1905.

The present facade features a bracketed galvanized-iron cornice with paneled frieze, molded window lintels, footed sills, and a historic street sign on the wall above the First Avenue corner storefront. This building was identical to and erected together with 120 & 120½ First Avenue.
