Description & Building Alterations

This three-story building was likely constructed in 1846, according to historic tax records. At that time, lot 34 and the four lots south to the corner of East 7^th Street were listed under the ownership of McGuire and Brady.

By 1970, the building was classified as a one family dwelling with retail on the ground floor. A mural on the north side of the building’s exterior has been present at least since the mid-1980s, when a tax photo was taken of the neighboring lot.  It is three bays wide, clad in brick and has decorative lintels.  The storefront has been significantly altered but the bracketed denticulated cornice is intact.
