Description & Building Alterations

This seven-story building on the corner of Avenue A and East 7th Street was constructed in 1908. An undated alteration permit indicates that the third and fourth floors of the building were to be temporarily used as a day care center so as to begin its interim funding from the Department of Social Service.

The present facade on the 7th Street and Avenue A features dentils under the window sills of the seventh story, and plain stone lintels. Other historic details like the cornice, window lintels and sills have been stripped. The storefront and the second story have been modified.
