106 Avenue B | Block : 402 | Lot #36
Description & Building Alterations
This five-story brick tenement building was built in 1883 as an “old-law” tenement building. The building is simply styled in a Neo-Grec manner with simple lintels accentuated by connecting off-set string courses. The storefront has been significantly altered but original features still appear on either side of the doorway and on the left side of the ground floor. This building would have matched in appearance with the corner building and still retains the original cornice, which is likely what the neighboring cornice looked like. Most of the facade is set back from the sides and top of the facade which is accented by the decorative brick corbelling just below the cornice.
