100 First Avenue; 401-403 East 6th Street | Block : 434 | Lot #1
Description & Building Alterations
This four-story building was originally built in 1841-1843, though it was altered later in the 19th century to include an Italianate style cornice (the building may have also been raised in height at that time). During an alteration in 1881, its entire sixth street facade was rebuilt due to a bulge in the wall.
The present facade features a bracketed galvanized-iron cornice with paneled frieze, molded window lintels, and footed sills. The storefront has been infilled.
