Description & Building Alterations

This is a vacant lot as of February 2025. It is anticipated that a new building will be constructed spanning this and the adjacent lots on either side, but plans have yet to be filed with the NYC Department of Buildings.

Demolished in 2024, the previous structure on this lot was a four-story brick row house, built at the same time as nos. 62 and 58 Third Avenue (1838-39). Each was built as a three-story building and had a fourth story added around the turn of the century.

The original owner of No. 60 was listed as A. Thompson. Its facade had been heavily modified, but the building retained its three-bay window pattern into the 21st century.

What is the Building Blocks Project
