Description & Building Alterations

This five-story pre-law tenement building was erected in 1863 by the heirs of Stephen Whitney, who purchased many properties on this block in 1825.

The present facade sill features the original metal cornice, brick frieze and dentil course. The building also shows shaved window lintels and bracketed sills. The door hood above the main entrance has been refaced.
