A five-story tenement building constructed by Kurtzer & Rohl in 1889 and owned by Charles & August Ruff once stood on this lot. It was built along with the buildings on lots 20, 21, and 22. The building at 626 East 9th Street is a close representation of the building’s original appearance. The building was demolished in 1982 and the lot is now vacant.
