Description & Building Alterations

This six-story tenement was built in 1899 by developer Morris Jacobson of 206 East 78th Street employing the services of architect Frederick Ebeling of 354 Grand Street, who designed a number of tenements in the area.

The building cost $23,000 to construct and had storefronts on the first floor with four families on each of the floors above. The building has some distinctive features including terracotta panels with floral designs and keystones with faces above the arched, fourth-floor windows.  In 1925 owners Elias and David Leoffina upgraded the building by installing hot water tanks.
