Description & Building Alterations

No. 58 East 4th Street is an Old Law Tenement, constructed in 1888. In its early years, a saloon operated out of the ground floor.

This brick, terra cotta, and granite German Renaissance Revival building has retained most of its historic character, including  elaborate spandrels, projecting brick piers with Corinthian-style capitals, granite columns on the second story, and a top broken pediment with an eagle figure.
