529 East 6th Street | Block : 402 | Lot #51
Description & Building Alterations
This five-story tenement building was built around 1863 along with many other buildings on this side of the block. Of the similar buildings, this one is more intact than most of the others. The lintels on the upper four floors have straight moldings that are above segmental arched window openings. The only lintel that appears to have been replaced is the right lintel of the two large, first-floor windows. The entryway even appears to be original or restored with a large set of double doors. The wooden cornice is intact along with the support decorative brick corbelling. The building experienced a fire on August 13th, 1911 which caused an estimated $500 in damage.
