527 East 6th Street | Block : 402 | Lot #52
Description & Building Alterations
This five-story tenement building was built around 1863 along with many other buildings on this side of the block. Of the similar buildings, this one is more intact than most of the others. The lintels on the upper four floors have straight moldings that are above segmental arched window openings. The first floor windows are larger, leaving room for only two windows on either side of the central entrance. These larger lintels are entirely arched with the molding following the contour of the windows. The entryway is still in its original location and is accessed via a stoop. The wooden cornice is intact along with the support decorative brick corbelling.
