Description & Building Alterations

This four-story apartment building was constructed in 2000. Its post-modern design aesthetic utilizes historicist details, implying a false history for this relatively new building. The moldings found on the lintels and the design surrounding the entryway are suggestive of the Italianate tenements of the 1860s and 1870s. The accented parapet represents the first half of the twentieth century when similar features were common on new buildings and altered older buildings. Before this building, a pre-law tenement stood here, as seen in the 1980s tax photo.
