Description & Building Alterations

This modern condo building replaced a four-story brick tenement building that was owned by the Astor family in the late 19th and early 20th century. It was part of William B. Astor’s holdings and was leased out between c. 1850-1875.In the 1920s it was converted to a furniture store, showroom and storage before being abandoned and sitting vacant until it was demolished in the mid-1980s.

For organizational consistency, the old lot number has been retained on this page, but please note the lot has since been re-numbered 7501.
