Description & Building Alterations

This five-story with basement tenement constructed in 1852-4 was originally built in the Italianate style and then altered to the Renaissance Revival style. It is located in the East Village/Lower East Side Historic District.

The present facade features a galvanized-iron cornice and frieze, decorative terracotta with keystones and incised banding on the second story. More information can be found in the Designation Report, linked in the “Additional Resources” section

What is the Building Blocks Project
