Description & Building Alterations
422 East 10th Street is a new building, constructed on the site of a tenement building constructed circa 1874. The brownstone tenement, like its neighbor at 420 East 10th Street, was designed by architect Charles A. Cochran and was 5-stories tall with 8 families residing above ground-floor shops. By 1950 the top three stories were removed and the remaining two floors were used as a garage and show room.
