The building at No. 4 East 2nd Street was originally erected in 1850, with no further proof of later major building alterations, though there have been interior renovations, stoop and facade repairs including the removal of some historic details.

Historic records indicate that in the 1800s the address for this building was actually 2 East 2nd Street.

While the building remains fairly intact, some features such as the stoop and original door have been altered. Another change is the addition of a metal enclosure surrounding the ground floor window.
