Description & Building Alterations

This pre-law tenement building was completed in 1871 by architect J.W. Marshall for owner Thomas Riley. The building was designed to have a store on the first floor and apartments for eight families on the upper floors. In 1955, partitions were erected for the new water closets. It is five stories in height, three bays wide, and clad in brick. The building retains its original decorative sills, lintels, and cornice.

What is the Building Blocks Project
