Description & Building Alterations

Currently two buildings exist on this lot, one five-story building at the front and one four-story building at the rear. The front building was built along with No. 341 East 5th Street by the same owner, and designed by the same architect in 1870-71.

The facade of the front building features a bracketed cornice with frieze, arched window lintels with dentils, bracketed sills, and iron Corinthian pilasters dividing two entrances on the ground floor, which appear to be original. The storefront cornice was removed sometime in the middle of the 20th century.
