305 East 12th Street | Block : 454 | Lot #68
Description & Building Alterations
The original owner and date of construction for this three-story Greek Revival row house are unknown, but the building appears on the 1853 map and therefore predates this year. After construction, the building was valued at $3,000 in 1856 and owned by John Robertson. Internal alterations were completed in 1939 under engineer David Kaufman and owner Grazia Lamagna. The building was split into individual apartments by floor in 1962 by then-owner Atlanta Associated Inc. and architect Jacob & Donald D. Fisher. No. 305 East 12th Street is three bays wide with an exposed basement level. It retains its original stoop, door opening, six-over-six windows, stoop railings that end in elaborate vertical volutes, and metal cornice with paired brackets. The brick facade appears to have been replaced and includes profiled lintels.
