Description & Building Alterations

This five-story tenement was constructed c. 1855 by original owner William Flannelly. There is a backhouse on the rear of the lot.

Originally designed as in the Italianate style, it currently has a neo-Grec facade that features a cast-iron entrance enframement and corner piers, molded galvanized-iron window lintels and projecting stone sills, and a heavy bracketed cornice with raised centerpiece. It’s likely that the entrance enframement, lintels, and cornice were replaced in the later 19th century with the current Queen Anne style elements.
