Description & Building Alterations

This tenement was constructed in 1898 for Hyman Oppenheim and designed by Schneider & Herter. The building was to be occupied by stores and 16 families.

Its entrance is enframed by granite pillars with figural carving and a bracketed hood. There are decorative horizontal lines, terra-cotta beltcourses, lintels, and spandrels with figural ornament on the facade.

Much original ornamentation has been replaced and the historic cornice has been removed.
