  • Original Use : Residential
  • Original Owner : Alex Lokshin
  • Original Architect : Arnold Montag

Description & Building Alterations

Construction of the new building at 229 East 2nd Street was completed in 2010. It was designed by Arnold Montag with AM/PM Design & Consulting. The building is six stories high and contains five apartment units with a community facility on the ground floor. The façade is of brick and glass with large floor-to-ceiling windows spanning the width of the building on each floor.

The 1980s tax photo shows that a modest one-story garage type structure once occupied the lot, although no records indicate when it was demolished. A six-story tenement once existed on this site, based on the 1916 Bromley map.

For organizational consistency, the old lot number has been retained on this page, but please note the lot has since been re-numbered 7505.
