This building is Fire House Ladder No. 11, built in 1956 and owned by the City of New York. A demolition permit from 1943 indicates that there were two five-story tenement buildings on lots 58 and 59, now combined into lot 58. It also reveals that the buildings were considered unsafe and had been vacant for some time prior to their demolition.
