Description & Building Alterations

This five-story Italianate style tenement building replaced an earlier 3 story building and was designed by Charles Wright. The building has simple segmental arched lintels likely made of cast iron. The storefront is not original and the cornice has been replaced with some simple brick ornamentation after it was removed. It was built along with its neighbors at 129 and 131 Avenue C. Several windows or openings were removed and infilled on the East 8th Street side.
