120 Avenue C | Block : 377 | Lot #6
Description & Building Alterations
Tax records indicate that this rowhouse was constructed around 1848. This date, along with the Italianate bracketed window sills, make this a transitional Greek Revival/Italianate style building. It retains its Greek Revival cornice.
This rowhouse would have originally been a single-family dwelling with a stoop. Its ground floor was likely altered when the building became a multi-family (possibly “tenementized”) residence, though it is unclear when this change in use occurred. A commercial space now occupies the ground floor space.
