102 East 7th Street | Block : 434 | Lot #15
Description & Building Alterations
This five-story tenement was constructed in 1875 and designed by August Blankenstein (presumably it is a typo in the Real Estate Record and Builders Guide which lists Blankenstein as owner rather than architect). It is located in the East Village/Lower East Side Historic District, in the Italianate style with Queen Anne elements.
The present facade features significant features like two of the original window lintels and sills on the fourth-story, iron cornice, cast-iron columns flanking the first-story and historic storefront on the eastern store. Modifications include reconfiguration of openings wherein the historic window lintels and sills have been removed. More information can be found in the designation report, linked in the “Additional Resources” section.
