Description & Building Alterations

This four-story building was originally erected in 1851 for owner James Dougherty. Its present facade features a simple bracketed cornice, stripped lintels, and a segmental-arched entrance opening that probably dates from an alteration in 1961 that consisted of removing the store front and constructing an enclosure wall. The first story has been largely altered, and the historical portico and bay window have been removed. There are two buildings on this lot.
