541 East 13th Street | Block : 407 | Lot #40
Description & Building Alterations
This six-story tenement was constructed near the end of the old law tenement era. The Renaissance Revival style incorporated the use of round-arched windows with a terra cotta molding as well as courses of terra cotta floral ornamentation. There is an abundance of decorative brickwork that create projecting courses, as well as dogtooth pattern courses and spandrel panels. The cornice has been removed and the ground floor has been altered. Originally, the entry to the upper floors would have been at the center bay, flanked with storefronts on either side.
